What is the essence of the CHALICE of Christ? The depth of this mystery is hidden from us. In our attempts to follow Christ by keeping His commandments, we inevitably and constantly drink some kind of cup, but we do not fully understand what Christ was thinking and experiencing at the time. However, something similar is bound to happen to us, just as He Himself said: “The cup that I drink, you will drink” (Mark 10:39). Christ’s cup is mysterious, but our cup is also hidden from prying eyes.
