Chef – Daughter. This afternoon I was an assistant to my chef daughter. She was making vegetable lasagne! Cooking for the first time! I’m shocked! How many times I have cooked this lasagna myself, but something always stopped me, there was no time or the right products. For the first time, this dish takes a lot of time to cook. Today my daughter came to me and say, that she wants to cook lasagna. Said that she’ll cook herself. After I found out that there were the right products, I would like to help

Not gonna lie, I didn’t expect such a result! Who would’ve thought that such simple vegetables, combined with each other would give such a result! Take a look for yourself – juicy lasagna with cheesy layers and gold edge! How’s that, huh? It’s just a masterpiece! And the veggies are just a bomb!

Chef – Daughter

For the test:

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 medium carrots
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 1 medium zucchini
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • garlic (optional)

For sauce:

  • 400g tomatoes
  • Oregano for flavor
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2-3 garlic cloves (pressed)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • ground black pepper
  • For dough:
  • 400g flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp water (if needed)
  • pinch of salt
  • And 400g of cheese for layers

Knead the dough (like for pasta) and place it in a plastic bag to rest.
Wash all the veggies and cut them into small cubes. Pour olive oil into the pan and fry the veggies on medium fire. Add pressed garlic and ground black pepper by choice.

For the sauce: cut an X at the bottom of the tomatoes and pour hot water over them, and leave them for a couple of minutes. Take off the tomato skin, cut them, and throw into a sieve to let the extra juice drain. Pour some olive oil on the pan and put the tomatoes in. Add some garlic, ground black pepper, and salt to taste.
Stew the tomatoes until softened. When the sauce is ready, turn off the heat, add some cheese into the sauce, and mix. Roll out the dough pretty thin and cut into square sheets.

Folds lasagna: into the backing sheet put a little bit of sauce and flatten it, put the dough sheet, sauce, veggies, and generously pour the cheese. And so on. In the end, put sauce on the top of the lasagna and pour some cheese. Cover up with foil and put it into the oven, pre-heated to 200C for 15-20 minutes. After 15 minutes take off the foil and let it bake for another 15 minutes until the golden edge. This dish is not only pretty but is very tasty.
